What happens during a therapy session?

Psychotherapy is a process of inquiry to help client towards arrival of resolution concerning self, others, and situation. Depending on your therapist training background and personal style, your experience with different therapist can vary greatly. Find one whom you feel comfortable, supported, and generally progressive. During the course of therapy, you may experience strong emotion. It is good to feedback to your therapist these strong emotion so that your therapist can help you to work through them. Feeling towards therapist will surface. It is good to be able to express these feeling especially if these feeling can deter you from continuing therapy. Some therapists may give homework assignment for you to work on between sessions. Always discuss with your therapist on how fitting their approach is for you.
