Welcome! I am Phei Phei, a Registered Psychotherapist and Drama Therapist with a Clinical Psychology background. I specialize in Selective Mutism, phobias and grief/loss. My style is warm, curious and I focus on providing a non-judgemental space for clients to connect with and understand their inner world, to look at patterns that might be holding them back, to learn new skills, and to tap into their inner resources to grow and heal. In working with children/adolescents with Selective Mutism, my approach is using the power of play, combined with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, to help them gain the confidence to not only speak in school (and other social settings) but to also become joyful and self-assured. Whether I am working with children or adults, whenever appropriate, I guide clients in using creative mediums, such as movements, arts, and story-telling, to aid their healing journey. I look forward to working with and supporting you or your children!
I have significant success in helping my clients with Selective Mutism speak in schools and as a result, improve their social lives and experience in schools. I have had success helping adults with phobias overcome their feared object, and as a result, restore their vocational functioning. I have had combined 10 years of working experience in the corporate world and as an EAP counselor; hence I have a good understanding of the challenges faced by working professionals. Having worked and lived within the cultural contexts of Singapore, Malaysia and Canada, I have a personal understanding of ways to navigate the Eastern and Western values in the working world.
